@Sameer In my case it keeps crashing as long as gtk theme is oxygen-gtk.

After following the steps given by Oren Gampel and getting Eclipse
working, you can close Eclipse and revert settings back to use oxygen-
gtk for GTK2 apps. Eclipse works fine after that.

waiting on confirmation that the workaround described here works in the
cases grouped up in #1241101 in order to group these in with #1241101.
