In 14.04 if using system theme color for panel background (default) it
seems that everything is fine, but if you select background image bug is
still there.

Although one work around may be to add the desktop number workplace
settings applet to the panel to see what workspace you are on. To do
that right click on the panel go to panel settings go to panel applets
click add for desktop number/name and add to your desktop you can even
put it right next to

Desktop switcher applet does not show which deskto
I'm also having a Desktop Pager problem...
It will appear and then disappear, the first time to get it working I
had to delete it, then add it again to the taskbar, but it's still
acting up.
The desktop I'm on I won't see the pager for that desktop, but I'll
sometimes see the other desktops for t
