Ya encontrado la solución, por lo menos en mí caso. He hecho un ppa-purge
del xorg-edge y instalado los paquetes oficiales de kubuntu (los que me
desinstalado del repositorio xorg-edge), he reiniciado el equipo y he
vuelto a ejecutar la Actualización completa de la distribución y ahora
puedo
como arreglo eso?

Pues la verdad es que ni idea. La única forma es arrancar con la imagen de
la 13.10 y hacer la actualización en la instalación que te da la opción.
