Hi Sparhawk, Your issue is that you have Window geometry hints checked
in Preferences, and that the 0.97 release doesn't respect the maximised
status of a window when saving a layout.
You can a) turn off geometry hinting for now, or b) update to the
nightly builds which has adds the maximised
