Is there any workaround? Currently, global menu is not usable in
flashback session on Saucy and Trusty.

On previous versions I had the same issue when adding a second appmenu
applet (one for each monitor, expecting they could use the menues of the
apps on that monitor). On latest one, using configurations from older
versions (.e. system is upgraded from an older version) the menu is
still shown, but
Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
