The problem you're having (probably) is that General OptionsDisplay SettingsDetect Outputs is not enabled so it's using the default value of 640x480+0+0. (/apps/compiz/general/screen0/options/detect_outputs in gconf) -- SERIOUS REGRESSION: compiz clips display to top left 1/4 only.
