I installed Tribe 4 today. Still the same: the ACX files are there
/lib/firmware/kernel***/acx/acxfiles but the wireless does not show up
in the network configurator.

I have the same issue.
The problem is the module acx, it cannot be loaded:
$ sudo modprobe acx
FATAL: Error inserting acx

Running 2.6.20 kernel in Gutsy (from Feisty, I didn't uninstall it) on
the same system, acx is

I would, if I would know how to do that. I'm still new at Ubuntu and

Downloaded Tribe 3 today. Updated Feisty with the alternate i386 cd.
I still have the same problem: no wireless shows up at the network tool.
I also tried the i386 desktop cd on my Dell laptop: same problem. I also got an
Internal error: failed to initialize HAL!
