Did you get a bunch of extra volume controls? You should have if you
used the benq settings. Try to crank up the "headphone" slider and
unmute it. Check that you've selected
all volume controls in "preferences".
Other than that, I dont know. Attaching my config.

My theory is that the different models of laptops have channels hooked
up differently in hardware, and in this model the internal speakers are
hooked to some normally non-used output. The setup seems pretty similar
to the benq one, so to enable that just add
options snd-hda-intel model=benq
