No, there isn't. The way to query profiles is to open the user's profile
page in a browser ;-)

Thought a little about this.
An easy fix would be to encode mentions as links in the protocols. However,
that way they would open the web profile of the specific person.
Another -- proper -- solution would be to expose the mentions a property of the
status update, but that would mean changing th
