I am experiencing the same issue again with ubuntu 18.0.4 release. Tried
noapic, boot repair, new ISO and older version (ubuntu 16.0.4). Updated
M2N4-SLI firmware to latest version.

False alarm. Turned out to be a problem with the mirror troubles causing
me to get the wrong image and not checking the actual *filename*.
Cannot reproduce in 8.04.

once you boot into graphics safe mode:
1. Please include the output of the command "uname -a" in your next response.
It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version
you're running, as well as

I just downloaded tibe 5 for during those sugestion but I can only
boot the live cd with the noapic option and then I dont have mouse or
keyboard support (I can not write those commands).
