Public bug reported: mplayer2 cannot play files over Samba in Trusty. Attempting to do so results in "No stream found to handle url".
My preliminary investigation reveals that the cause is that mplayer2 is not building against libsmbclient. In the build log file (https://launchpadlibrarian.net/159938058/buildlog_ubuntu-trusty- amd64.mplayer2_2.0-701-gd4c5b7f-2build1_UPLOADING.txt.gz), it says "Checking for Samba support (libsmbclient) ... no ". ** Affects: mplayer2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1271794 Title: mplayer2 cannot play files using smb:// protocol in Trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mplayer2/+bug/1271794/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
