You can recompile it for now with mp3 support:
sudo apt-get remove easytag
sudo apt-get build-dep easytag
sudo apt-get install libid3tag0-dev
sudo apt-get source easytag
cd easytag-2.1.1
dpkg-buildpackage -rfakeroot
cd ..
sudo dpkg -i easytag*deb
That worked for me...
