I have Ubuntu 14.04 as well, and from
http://homebank.free.fr/downloads.php it seems to me that there is no
other way to install version 4.5.6 other than using the Ubuntu
repository or compiling the application from the source code.

HomeBank 4.5.5
I was using HomeBank successfully on Ubuntu 13.04 until about
31.12.2013.
Then my computer broke - got it fixed
Then Ubuntu 13.04 broke - updated to 13.10
Then Ubuntu 13.10 broke - updated to 14.04
Then Ubuntu 14.04 didn't work properly
Then I freshly install
