Public bug reported: This bug results into a non-working "/usr/bin/rails"!
The package of ruby-activerecord-3.2 claims to depend on ruby-arel ">= 3.0.2~" but the ruby source states "~> 3.0.2" which means ">=3.0.2 <<4" in Debian syntax! See /usr/share/rubygems-integration/*/specifications/activerecord-3.2.13.gemspec ! Since saucy ruby-arel 4.0 is in Ubuntu but this version is only supported in rails 4.0. The best solution might be to offer a new (old) ruby-arel-3.0 package in parralel on saucy and trusty. For trusty it might be a good idea to upgrade to rails 4 (ruby-activerecord-4.0). If that is not possible before the release we need to downgrade ruby- arel to 3.0! As a workaround I installed ruby-arel 3.0.2-3 from raring. ** Affects: ruby-activerecord-3.2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: ruby-arel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: ruby-activerecord-3.2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1281286 Title: ruby-arel >= 4 breaks ruby-activerecord-3.2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ruby-activerecord-3.2/+bug/1281286/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
