The problem occurs as described if I ssh into my Gutsy box from another machine and I start system-config-printer out of the ssh shell (on the desktop of the remote box). If I am on the local desktop of the Gutsy box the behavior is different, but also broken: The first page of the add-printer

I have done a complete update of my Gutsy box again (sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade) and after that the add-printer wizard works as designed. The PPDs and available printers are polled in the background while enterin queue name and description. The bug was fixed by somethinf
