Hi,
The changelog of 14.04.2 contains:
> remove etc/xdg/xdg-xubuntu/xfce4/panel/whiskermenu-1.rc
But from a quick look through the debdiff, it seems it is not deleted from the
system. It looks like a conffile to me (I can't check the 14.04.1 deb right now
to be sure), so you need to add it to
debian/xubuntu-default-settings.maintscript with the proper version to be
removed magically.
Otherwise it'll stay on the system, and might take precedence over
/usr/share/xfce4/whiskermenu/defaults.rc.
