Tested with Lubuntu 14.04 (32 bit & 64 bit) up to date.
I think the interaction between light-locker, xfce4-power-manager and X
is quite confusing.
I had to disable the screensaver for a notebook connected that plays
music to an audio amplifier.
It was hard to disable it...
Finally I did:

I switched from lxdm to lightdm, and now light-locker works.

Fair enough. But, the fact it does not remember any changes in setting
from one reboot to another is still a problem that needs to be fixed.
Perhaps, just one of the multiple poor integration issues of Lubuntu.

org.freedesktop.DisplayManager DBus API to lock the session. This is
what lightdm implements.

light-locker doesn't lock, and light-locker-command --lock doesn't work
either. It gives

I can't get light-locker to do anything at all. No matter how long my
laptop sits unused, there is no blanking of the screen and no locking.
This is on a vanilla Lubuntu 14.04 install (and ps confirms light-locker
is running)
