sudo modprobe -r psmouse
sudo modprobe psmouse
Basicly remove module from the kernel, and reload it. This happens on
laptops, touch pad goes dead after laptop sleep.
Should do the trick.

First, I ran the following command as seen on the DebuggingKernelSuspend
wiki page:
sync; echo 1 /sys/power/pm_trace; /etc/acpi/sleep.sh force
Then, I got the attached dmesg output while the mouse was not
responding.

Second, I rebooted the machine and got the attached dmesg at which point
the mouse was working again.
