I have not tested yet. I did upgrade my graphics card though. Now when I come
back from suspend mode I receive a blank screen.
Ubuntu Linux seems to be doing something because my disk drive
light is flashing like crazy. Maybe looping in kernal code?

Ubuntu better. Could you please test the latest upstream kernel
available from the very top line at the top of the page (the release
names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily
folder) following
Will you ever look into this bug? I reported it in June and it is now
the end of August. I really like Ubuntu Linux and everything you stand
for. I think it is the best Linux distro by far. Just wish I could go
into suspend mode to conserve power. Thanks for any help.

I reinstalled 12.04 LTS and it happens the same way as in 14.04 LTS.
