To be honest I can't remember what I did. It was a couple of months back that I was working on my web site. I have a feeling I may have somehow finished the job in Aptana, because I can't remember sticking with any alternative software. I have both version 3.4.1 and 3.4.2 on my machine, so perhaps

I now suspect that the issue may be something to do with Open Java. I switched to Oracle Java this morning and so far I have not had a crash, although it is still early days. I will let you know if I do get another xserver crash. However I am leaving this as an xorg bug because a misbehaving Java
