Sabnzbd+ versions >= 0.7.17 have (basic) support for rar5 format, when used alongside unrar >= 5. The latter is available in trusty/14.04 and newer; the former isn't in Ubuntu as yet but will be uploaded to Debian in time for utopic/14.10.
On older Ubuntu releases, neither is available out of the box in a sufficiently new version. That means you will have to find or create a (private) backport. For sab itself I maintain a ppa at https://launchpad.net/~jcfp/+archive/ppa - which leaves just unrar to figure out by yourself. ** Changed in: sabnzbdplus (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Summary changed: - Sabnzbdplus has problems with WIN RAR 5 files + Sabnzbdplus has problems with RAR 5 files -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1330146 Title: Sabnzbdplus has problems with RAR 5 files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sabnzbdplus/+bug/1330146/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
