Hello fellows!
I have almost the same problem: after updating oxideqt and its libraries I lost
my NetworkManager. I had to update oxideqt with Synaptic because both Ubuntu
Software Updater and apt-get refused to do it. After update everything was
continuing without any trouble. Untill I have

Hi Seth, hi Sven,
According to your demand, I upgraded my system.
Here are the current versions in use for kernel and iwlwifi :
kernel (uname -a) : Linux BG6I34H10S1 3.13.0-36-generic #63-Ubuntu SMP
Wed Sep 3 21:30:07 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
iwlwifi (dmesg | grep iwlwifi) :
Seth: Could you build your test kernel again from the current Trusty kernel
(3.13.0-35.62, if I'm not mistaken)?
I would love to (have someone) test this, but I wouldn't want to go back to
-32.57

Sven: These changes are already present in the 3.13.0-36.63 kernel which
was released last week, so you should just be able to update your system
and test with that kernel.

I'd call that more of a workaround than a solution. It seems apparent
that there is some firmware aspect to the problems, but from others with
similar problems it sounds like it's at least less prevalent with 3.15
and 3.16 kernels.
I've identified a couple of fixes that could be responsible for
Hi Seth,
Since last week, I try to solve this issue.
After reading the description to bug #1293569, I renamed the
iwlwifi-7260-8.ucode to iwlwifi-7260-8.backup in /lib/firmware.
The wireless works fine since last saturday (2014/08/02) : no issue
occurs at startup, at wake up or after several

Hi,
Here we are !
A wireless disconnection occurs after 30 minutes of use.
As you ask me, I ran 'apport-collect 1349108'.
So, I installed 30 minutes ago these additionnal packages and rebooted my
computer before the issue occurs :
unrar:amd64 (5.0.10-1),
ttf-mscorefonts-installer:amd64
Hi,
I found this log for each disconnection (/var/log/syslog) :
wpa_supplicant[875]: wlan0: WPA: 4-Way Handshake failed - pre-shared key
may be incorrect

From what I see in the logs the problem does look similar to bug
#1293569, in that the reason given for the disconnection is inactivity
and that reverting back to the -7 ucode seems to correct the issue,
except that the fix there doesn't seem to work for you. I think we're
going to need to collect

Disconnections problems each day after upgrade linux-firmware:amd64
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm sorry Seth but before reading your message, I proceeded to a new fresh
install of Ubuntu 14.04 without installing updates during installation. After
installation, I configured 'synaptic' to receive only updates from
'trusty-security' to avoid updating
Hi,
Good news !
No wireless disconnection occurs this night.
I will install additionnal packages this afternoon (gimp, vlc, etc...).

There's a lot of information here, but it's all missing some of the
details needed to make any sense of it. Please do the following:
1. Make sure your system is fully up to date. Reboot.
2. Wait for your wireless issues to occur.
3. If you have access to a wired connection, connect your machine
Actually, I'm using the previous version for this package :
linux-firmware:amd64 (1.127.4).
Everything works !
