Ubuntu 8.04: ntfs-3g 1.1.2216-1ubuntu1
Fixed for me. ntfs-3g works even with extremly filled disks (99%++) reliably.
CPU load is OK.

Happened again with a disk that has 15% space left free.
As these disks contain customer data, I cannot forward metadata. Please
verify on a disk of your choice.
