This is not a gnome-terminal bug, but due to the design of ssh/scp. In your .bashrc/.profile, make the echo happen only if it's output to a terminal, e.g. if [ -t 1 ]; then echo whatever you wish to see on login fi -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu
