Public bug reported: Whenever I try to start KDE, the screen flashes and blanks several times before coming to rest on a blank white screen. I have no reason to doubt that KDE has actually loaded: for example, Alt-F2| kate <CR> produces a brief burst of activity on the mouse pointer. But with a blank white screen, all I can do is do restart the X server or drop to a virtual console.
I originally raised this behaviour in the discussion under Bug #88152. I believe, however, that this is a different problem. It appears to be unique to KDE. I am able to use Gnome and XFE.
