To manage
Ok now it seems to work most of the time on the first try (with pritty
interface). But rebooting/standby makes my screen go black and I am
unable to reactivate. I need to to do a hart reboot.

this fix does not work for me. I have lubuntu 14.10 installed with all
updateds. But I still need to enter my password twice on start first time it
does not work, second time it looks ugly but does work. I am also after restart
somhow unabele to use my touchpad (usb mouse works) but I am unsure

Did some debugging here. It seems the system is running ok, plymouthd
is also present but does not appear to be connected to the keyboard on
VT7. We are able to switch VTs correctly etc.

I can see if I can reproduce this issue.
Are you able to boot in to the VM after installation using cirrus? If
so, we can try some different kernel versions to try an narrow down a
good kernel version.

I installed Beta2 and upgraded the kernel from 3.16.0-17.23 to 3.16.0.22.23 and
can reproduce the issue.
Upgrading plymouth alone from 0.9.0-0ubuntu5 to 0.9.0-0ubuntu6 doesn't
reproduce it.

I suspect this might relate to our disabling bochs_drm, since that's a
driver for the non-standard-but-poorly-named "std" qemu VGA device.
Given that this is not the default VGA device in qemu anymore, I'm not
considering this release critical.
