I have the same problem here using amd gpu and cpu.
I tried with free drivers and catalyst... but nothing changed. Blender
crashes everytime I need to use a Blender dialog.
Like said by @HAYASHI mizuki, launching blender with the debug option
(-d) completly kills the bug. Weird !

This crash happens not only for checkboxes in save/export dialogs, it
looks like it happens durining IO in all Blender dialogs. I discovered
by trying to expand the tree under Input in User Preferences.

I' m also sufferd by the same problem. But I may found a work aroud to the
issue.
>From terminal emulator, type
blender -d
(-d is the debug option), and no more crash happend. I can't understand why
this works,
but I wish this will help you.
DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10
Uname: 3.16.0-28-gener
The 2.72a tarball from upstream works for me.

I can't believe more people haven't reported this yet. Maybe Blender has
its own bug reporting system elsewhere. Will seek a PPA to install an
older version, as it doesn't affect the 14.04's Blender.
