Sorry Walter for the harsh words, but Ubuntu as beginner friendly distro
is this behavior a no-go.

I know Walter, but the Ubuntu team itself made the decision - and we users have
to live with that, what we've got:
- crash reports in /var/log
- no (automatic) upload to Launchpad
I will do a upgrade within the next weeks to Trusty, so i hope than it's gone
(test machine looks good).

There's a new version in vivid. Could you test with that?
Also, it would be nice to get these bugs via the crash reporter since we
have automated tools to check the stacktraces.
