Public bug reported:

I was running VMWare Workstation 10.0.2 on my Ubuntu 14.10. 
VW warned me about possible problems with my native graphics card 3D 
functionality and then hanged booting the guest OS.
I had to restart the system after killiing VW from a different terminal and 
then the system stood stalled with a black screen. I hit the restart button of 
PC, rebooted normally and then got this error.
