On a side note I'm not sure why we should wait for Vivid to get this fix
while Aptitude finds me upgradable packages almost everyday, most of which
looking less impacting than this one.

Same thing here.
Prior to upgrading to ubuntu 14.10 the SD Card of my camera used to be
automatically mounted when I plugged it in. Now, this does not happen
and mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt returns:
mount: /dev/sdb1: more filesystems detected. This should not happen,
use -t to explicitly specify
