Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel
I have installed Gutsy from scratch using one of the daily made dvds, using the classic debian installer. After the installation the machine was rebooted (and I had the first issue with usplash wrongly set to 1440x1440, but something similiar was already reported in a separate bug) and as X started I've noticed something wrong and it is still what I am seeing now: about 1/8 of the screen is missing from the left side and there are also black borders on the top and on the right side. I'll attach a picture to explain it better. I've tried to set different values in xorg.conf but none worked. The closest thing to a solution I came to is the following: 1) add the Option "DDC" "false" in the "Monitor" section. This way GDM starts at 1024x768. 2) one logged in gnome it is possible to change the resolution using the tool under "Preferences" or using xrandr. As an additional info, the display was working well with feisty and an NVIDIA card, both using the DVI and the VGA connector (now I am using the VGA one). ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- The intel video driver doesn't correctly manage a L194WT widescreen monitor https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139240 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
