Same problem on Ubuntu MATE 16.04.1 - the sensors page is blank.
Some interesting output from "strace hwinfo" when I select the sensors tab:
access("/sys/class/hwmon/hwmon0/device/", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file or
directory)
access("/proc/acpi/thermal_zone", F_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such file
I meant to write "strace hardinfo" in the previous comment, of course.
