Public bug reported:

This morning I upgraded 14.04 LTS to 14.10, when finished, restarted the
system and ended up with purple screen with the words 'Ubuntu 14.10' in the
bottom left corner. Another restart same thing.
 Conclusion a problem,

So I had a USB drive with 14.04LTS, used that to rebuild my system. when
resstarting, I was greeted by a "low resolution screen".
The system would not restart properly there after.

I created a new 14.04.1 LTS USB drive, surey that would work....

I inserted the USB drive and booted it and the reult was:
Failed to load COM32 file gfxboot.c32

The above statement was repeated continuously until I shut the system
down.

I am at a loss what to do, not only that I cannot use my laptop at all.

Help is needed?

I have since followed other reports and attempted to resolve the problem
of not being able to boot a USB drive created by "start disk creator", I
added files listed in other reports, including the one it seems to
want:gfxboot.c32. Still the same result.

I unfortunately cannot provide any information other than my
observatios.

It all started with an upgrade failing. Iam in need of a resolution to
the inability to boot my USB driv. BTW the 32 bit worked OK on a 32 bit
system also after a failure to upgrade,

If I could get a copy of 14.04LTS without the".1" I think that would
work.
