to set mpv as execuable program does not work with me if i try to any
video no matter what video chose smplayer crashed
and some some updates bevor i detect ths strange behavior all mp4 files
plays well

It seems mplayer can't find the correct fps. So either it's a bug in
mplayer or maybe the video is corrupted.
gnomeplayer is also a frontend for mplayer, so that's why it's also
affected by the problem.
I would suggest to try mpv.
You can find here instructions to install mpv and use it with
mplayer has the same problem like smplayer,gnomeplayer so on
The -nogui option will only work as the first command line argument.

the gnome video player has the same problem with my mp4 file only vlc
and totem have no problem to play
Open a terminal and type this:

I don't know, but you're using a large cache. Does this problem still
happen if you set the cache to 0 or any other lower value?
