Does the sound card work again if you boot into the previous kernel?
That can be done by selecting the last kernel from the GRUB menu.

The sound card doesn't work when booting with linux 3.2.0.77generic
(immediately previous available kernel), but it does work just fine when
booting with the one before that, ie linux 3.2.0.75generic.
