I can confirm the bug on a Dell Latitude D510 (Intel graphics card). The machine is running Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon and it's a major nuisance since I can not hold any presentations using a video projector due to this issue. The key combo used to work when I was running Kubuntu 6.10. However,

Same on a Dell D830. The Fn+F8 key that should activate VGA output is not working. The log says: [ 280.168152] atkbd.c: Unknown key pressed (translated set 2, code 0x8b on isa0060/serio0). [ 280.168161] atkbd.c: Use 'setkeycodes e00b keycode' to make it known. I'm using latest Ubuntu Hardy.

ok, it works on gusty beta but not as supposed assume we start with only laptop LCD working it should switch between 3 situations 1 - redirect all output to VGA out and switch laptop LCD off (to save battery). 2 - switch both on. 3 - return to original situation (laptop LCD on and VGA out off).
