I can confirm this is happening to me as well. As with Mr. Gregg, I
upgraded from Feisty. Would love to at least have a work around.
This is using Gutsy, up-to-date as of 1:25PM Pacific Time, 10-12-2007

Thanks for your report, which version of Ubuntu are you running? That
works fine in my Gutsy desktop with all the updates. not confirming.

Running up to date gutsy. It happens all the time. I am using PNG's as

More info that might help. The install is upgrade from Feisty. Missing
faces also appear when fast-user-switching is used.
