To test on trusty, I load a preseed which wait for input (a note
template loaded by hands-off), this gives me the time to add a “set -x”
on top of:
- /usr/share/console-setup/keyboard-configuration.config
- /usr/bin/localchooser
In the logs, I saw the debug of localchooser, as reported in
Well, you're seeing similar issues, yes. The locale-chooser error
causing the extra message still needs to get fixed though.

I've investigated this, just needs a rebuild of d-i with kdb-udeb; so
that setupcon can run successfully (missing loadkeys). Will upload the
fix in W; SRU to Vivid for the mini.iso afterwards.
