Also have this problem in Kubuntu 16.04(.5). Just upgraded from 14.04.
No fix after 3 years?

I have the same problem on one of two computers, both upgraded from
Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04. The only difference I can think of is that one
had kubuntu-desktop installed before the upgrade, the other one only
after. They both run plasma 5.5.5, Qt 5.5.1.
