Public bug reported: While not really a bug, I find it very annoying that one has to reboot their device to have a language change take effect. Can we improve the underlying mechanisms (I understand this must be far from trivial) to achieve an instant change without the mandatory reboot step?
When one initially flashes their phone, the setup wizard allows selecting the language, and this doesn’t need a reboot, so I think we should aim for something similar. ** Affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1452997 Title: Need to reboot for language change to take effect To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1452997/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
