Subin, just to advise, kernels that have errors when installing do not
fit the criteria of kernel-bug-exists-upstream. As previously outlined
in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1456656/comments/49
you will need to continue trying successively earlier version of the
mainline
rc4 and rc5 were shown as Unstable, so only didn't try them earlier.

I downloaded the rc4 and rc5 kernels from the below link and tried them. But
still no luck. Getting same error.

vivid version from the link you provided.

Then I updated the BIOS as

I tried to install the below upstream kernels but got errors while
installing itself. It could not be installed.

I have updated the BIOS from the link provided as requested. But,
nothing changed, still WIFI card is not getting detected.
Moreover, by default, Secure Boot was enabled, so only Windows was
loading everytime. So, I went into the BIOS setup and disabled the
Secure Boot. But still, the

The apport-collect 1456656 did not work in the live version. So, I
removed the Linux mint and installed the given Vivid ubuntu :
But after installing the ubuntu I was getting the below error when I ran
the command.

Thanks Chris for your reply.
I have downloaded and tried the Ubuntu as live CD without installing.
But, still no luck. It is not showing/ detecting the wireless
connection. Only wired is working.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.1 kernel[0].
If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following

I have run the command apport-collect 1456656.
How to update the upstream kernal ?
The latest version of kernal is 3.16.0-37 is shown in my Update Manager.
The default kernal now is 3.13.0-37.
Should I update it to the latest kernal in the Update Manager ? Will it
crash my system ?
