As I wrote in the second comment,
I'm guessing if it make sense to support it for other commands, like source,
or build-source
( it could not be as simple as supporting install was )
I never wrote this part of the patch.
Even apt-get source supports only the package=version syntax. ( but it
I receive this output:
$ apt-build source oggconvert=0.3.0-2ubuntu1
W: Unable to locate package oggconvert=0.3.0-2ubuntu1
W: Unable to locate package oggconvert=0.3.0-2ubuntu1
E: No packages found
Missing source package name for source_by_source().
$
Could you please check?

it was not a syntax error. In perl the semicolon in the last statement isn't
mandatory.
I forgot to remove after my tests.
