Public bug reported: Using a Google Hangout, from Firefox, or Chromium. FF Uses GoogleTalk Plugin, Chromium uses its own embedded version.
After about 4 or 5 minutes during which time the system load slowly creeps up, the Video becomes Choppy, and the Audio broken. Switching off the Camera, helps eleviate the problem, but only in the sense that it slows the creeping system load progression down. Eventually the audio becomes unusable, and I have to drop the Hangout. Hopefully he system report from apport-bug will shows that I am using the Intel Grphics drivers, and these did have some issues with on the early plasma 5 tech preview version. I also grabbed a few lsof files from the GoogleTalk plugin as the Hangout progressed. At this point I am a little unsure how to progress the debug process further ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: ubuntu-release-upgrader-core 1:15.04.14 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-18.18-generic 3.19.6 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-18-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.1 Architecture: amd64 CrashDB: ubuntu CurrentDesktop: KDE Date: Wed Jun 3 14:24:44 2015 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-05-06 (28 days ago) InstallationMedia: Kubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet" - Release amd64 (20150422) PackageArchitecture: all SourcePackage: ubuntu-release-upgrader Symptom: dist-upgrade UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: ubuntu-release-upgrader (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug dist-upgrade vivid ** Attachment added: "lsof output for GoogleTalk Plugin PID" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1461551/+attachment/4409135/+files/lsof-gtalk-3.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1461551 Title: System gradual overload with GoogleTalk + Plasmashell +Firefox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/1461551/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
