the postrm of grub-invaders only performs a "update-grub2" (if found). Are
there any error messages when you run update-grub2? Can you post these?

from an educated guess, this might be a problem with your grub2
configuration.
can you try
LANG=C sudo update-grub2?

Thanks for reporting.
I tried triggering the same issue on my 15.04 vm, but grub-invaders was
installed and removed without any problems. I'm running amd64 though, so
it might be affected by i386 or possibly something completely different.
I'm afraid I don't know much more.
