Public bug reported: I am experiencing the same symptoms as described in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-screensaver/+bug/586528. This bug report is new on request.
I run Xubuntu with XFCE, xscreensaver and Light Locker. Recently, whenever I log back (twice, once through locker and once through xscreensaver), the X11 applications are not accepting keyboard input. I can switch desktops using keyboard shortcuts, though. What fixes the issue for me is switching into a Terminal window. Then the keyboard input start working.
