I could not reproduce it (changed value via gconf-editor and killed nautilus). Seems to be fixed in: nautilus 2.18.1-0ubuntu1 - rejected (since it never was confirmed and there exists no dedicated patch) If the bug should still be present under certain circumstances, please reopen this issue

I can still reproduce it in 7.04. Unset /apps/nautilus/preferences/no_ubuntu_spatial and press backspace in a directory. 2 windows are now showing (should only be 1). As comment 6 mentions though, this is no longer the default behaviour (I think?) -- ubuntu spatial nautilus inconsistencies
