We're no longer using screen and graphics, so this bug report is out of
date. Also see 'man xrandr' for ways to specify which is the primary
display.

Also its not necessary to restart your computer to see your changes.
Simply logging out and then back in restarts the X server.

Nvidia Dual Head / Dual monitor Fix
BugFix:
Dual-Head monitor problems:- seen in versions 7.04 (& beta) / 7.10
To fix this is much easier than it at first appears, first a warning!
Do not try to use the tool under "System | Administration | Screens & Graphics"

I have the same Problem with my Laptop (IBM Thinkpad T40)1024x768 an my
externel HP L1925 Monitor1280 1024. And at my monitor I can watch Videos
only if they are outside of the 1024x768 area.

I have a similar problem with a Dell 2407 (1920x1200) primary monitor
and Dell 1905 (1280x1024) secondary monitor. I can get the primary
monitor to display at 1920x1200, but the Gnome panel at top of screen
and the bottom panel are sized and positioned as if the screen is
1280x1024 - ie the top pan
