It would be a good thing to redesign the Samba config GUI, more stable
and more complete one, including the activation and the Samba user
management. That is not the case at the moment, and as said upper, it is
still a lot of problem for Ubuntu beginners, and more generally for
Linux beginners.
This bug was nominated for Gutsy but does currently not qualify for a 7.10
stable release update (SRU) and the nomination is therefore declined.
According the the SRU policy, the fix should already be deployed and tested in
the current development version before an update to the stable releases

I put in in the wrong position, it was supposed to be a comment... :)
