Public bug reported: Installed Gutsy with the Kubuntu Beta liveCD. After the most recent upgrade to kernel 2.6.22-14, I noticed that my "storage media" area, which normally shows other partitions on the hard drive, external USB drives, CDs/DVDs, etc., was not showing anything. This was resolved via the Ubuntu forums, and the solution is as such: uninstall the hal package, reinstall the hal package, and the drives/partitions/discs show up. What is interesting, though, is that when I rebooted my machine, I was back to the same problem. Had to repeat solution. Also, booting into the older kernels (2.6.22-13, -12) didn't resolve the issue.
On a similar note, I figured I would mention that additionally, my external USB hard-drive does not automatically mount when I start up the operating system as it did in previous iterations of (k)ubuntu. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- "storage media" fails to show up after kernel upgrade to 2.6.22-14 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/151789 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
