Good patch, fixed the installation for my Emacs.
Prior to patch:

This condition persists in hardy, and exactly the same debdiff fixes the
problem (the hardy package is the same as the gutsy package; also I just
tested it and it works). Please upload this to hardy.

I've unsubscribed ubuntu-universe-sponsors. Unfortunately, it appears
that the gutsy patch was not applied in time for release. Please verify
that this condition persists in hardy, and if so, submit a debdiff
against hardy. Once it has been applied to the development release, it
can be considere
